We keep things minimal. Here’s what we might collect:
- Local Chat Data: Your conversations with AI partners are stored only on your device. We don’t automatically upload or store chat history on our servers. You control this data—delete the app, and it’s gone (unless you back it up).
- Usage Data: We collect basic info about how you use the app, like which AI partners you chat with, how many messages you send, and app performance details (e.g., crashes). This helps us improve the app but doesn’t include your actual chat content.
- Purchase Data: If you buy coins, we receive transaction details (like amount spent) through Apple’s App Store, but we don’t see your payment info (credit card numbers, etc.)—that’s handled by Apple.
- Device Info: We may collect basic device details (model, OS version) to ensure the app works smoothly, but nothing that identifies you personally.
We use the data we collect for one thing: making Mika better. Here’s how:
- Improving AI: Usage data (not chat content) helps us refine AI responses to make conversations more fun and on-topic.
- App Performance: Device and crash info lets us fix bugs and keep the app running smoothly.
- Purchases: Transaction data helps us process coin purchases and resolve payment issues.
We never sell your data to third parties. Period.
Your local chat data is as secure as your device. We recommend using passcodes or biometrics to lock your phone, since that’s the first line of defense for your conversations.
For the limited data we do collect (usage, device info), we use industry-standard security measures to keep it safe. Access to this data is restricted to our team, and only for app improvement purposes.
We don’t share your data with anyone except:
- Service Providers: Trusted companies that help us run the app (e.g., cloud services for app hosting). They’re contractually required to protect your data and only use it to help us.
- Legal Reasons: If we’re required by law (like a court order) to share data, but we’ll only do so if necessary and will try to protect your privacy as much as possible.
You’re in control:
- Delete Chat History: Clear your conversations anytime through the app’s settings—this removes data from your device.
- Stop Using Mika: Uninstalling the app deletes all local chat data (unless you’ve backed it up elsewhere).
- Opt-Out of Usage Data: You can disable analytics in your device settings, though this might make it harder for us to fix app issues.
